濟源鋼鐵是國家高新技術(shù)企業(yè)，構(gòu)建了完整的高端特殊鋼新材料研發(fā)平臺，現(xiàn)擁有省特殊鋼材料創(chuàng)新中心、國家認可檢測中心、省級技術(shù)中心、省工程機械用鋼工程技術(shù)研究中心、博士后研發(fā)基地等研發(fā)平臺。建立了河南省特殊鋼材料研究院及七個產(chǎn)品研發(fā)室，研發(fā)團隊300余人，長期外聘高校、研究院所及產(chǎn)業(yè)鏈專家近百人，并與軸研所、鋼研總院、東北大學、北京科技大學等國內(nèi)高等研究院所建立長期技術(shù)合作。

研發(fā)中心占地面積3780m²，設(shè)有化學分析室，熒光分析室、物理性能檢測室、金相室、ONH氣體分析室、直讀光譜分析室等，還配套建設(shè)有機加工中心、低倍酸洗室等。研發(fā)中心總投資5000余萬元，引進國際先進水平、高精密分析檢測設(shè)備240余臺(套)，如日本株式會社電子探針（配EBSD）、德國蔡司掃描電子顯微鏡+牛津能譜儀、美國利曼電感耦合等離子體光譜儀（ICP）、全自動蔡司金相顯微鏡、美國GE水浸超聲波自動C掃描探傷儀、瑞士Ernst全自動端淬硬度計等。

Jiyuan Iron & Steel, as a national high-tech enterprise, has a well-established R&D platform for new materials of high-end special steel, and now operates R&D platforms such as Henan Special Steel Materials Innovation Center, a nationally accredited test center, a provincial technology center, Henan Engineering Steel Engineering Technology Research Center for Engineering Machinery, and a postdoctoral R&D base. The company has established Henan Special Steel Materials Research Institute and six R&D rooms of products, comprising a team of over 300 in-house researchers and nearly 100 external experts from colleges and universities, research institutes, and across the industrial chain. Additionally, it has also maintained long-term technical cooperation with Chinese advanced research institutes such as Luoyang Bearing Research Institute (ZYS), Central Iron & Steel Research Institute (CISRI), Northeastern University, University of Science and Technology Beijing.

Its R&D center, covering an area of 3,780m², has chemical analysis rooms, fluorescent analysis rooms, testing rooms for physical properties, metallography rooms, ONH analysis rooms, OES analysis rooms, and supporting organic processing centers, low-power pickling rooms and so on. With a total investment of more than CNY 50 million, the R&D center is equipped with more than 240 sets of world-class testing equipment that allows high-precision analysis, such as electron probes (with EBSD) of Japanese Kabushiki Kaisha, German Zeiss scanning electron microscopes and Oxford energy disperse spectrometers, American Leeman inductively coupled plasma spectrometers (ICP), Zeiss full-automatic metallographic microscopes, American GE water-immersed ultrasonic automatic C-scanning flaw detectors and Swiss Ernst full-automatic end-quenching hardness testers, etc.
